Pisces 42′ Caliente Released 8 Striped Marlin in one day — Here an approx 180 pounder!

Garret Flynn, age 12, caught and released 4 Striped Marlin and 2 nice Snappers on Pisces 42′ Caliente. Way to go Garrett!!

Overall Catch Success rate: 86%

Billfish 69%, Dorado 10%, Tuna 6%, Other 25%

This Week’s fishing in Cabo brought a hot marlin bite that hung around for about three to four days. Again, the marlin showed up at the Old Lighthouse in good numbers, with top boats, like Pisces Viking Billfish 37′ BBII going 11 for 13 on Striped Marlin in a day.

Others, like Pisces 35′ Valerie and 42′ Cailente went 8 for 10 on Stripeys; and everyone seemed to average about 3 Striped Marlin per boat, which hit on live bait mostly. Marlin ranged from 100lbs up to 180lbs for several boats. Some of them were also found out by Migrino and Golden Gate; catches totaled 137 Billfish this week.

The other top producing fish were Sierra Mackerel, with up to 10 – 20 caught per boat along with other small game like red snapper, grouper and sheepshead.

There were some roosterfish caught too, with Pisces 28′ Andrea being one of the top boats for these, with up to 4 caught in one day, averaging between 8-10 lbs.

GREAT CATCHES ABOARD PISCES  28′ ANDREA

For this category of small game we had about 150 fish caught total.

Dorado were few and far between, but the ones caught were decently sized between 15-25 lbs each. But there were only 8 of them caught this week, close to Migrino and the old Lighthouse.

Tuna numbers were also very low, with only one notable tuna catch this week: Pisces 40′ Chasin Tail landed a nice 60 lbs Yellowfin Tuna out at the Iman Bank, along with another 20 pounder and a Red snapper. Total tuna catches this week (including Skipjack Tuna) were of 12 fish.
