Throughout November, the air temperature has hovered between 75 and 80, and the water temperature has refused to drop more than a few degrees. It has stayed between the 75 to 79-degree range, and the warm-water fish have enjoyed every moment of frolicking in it. Some of the cooler-water fish that came through and haven’t stuck around have been snapper, pargo, cabrilla, Sierra, amberjack, and even some yellowtail. However, boats are still getting Striped and Blue Marlin, Dorado, Wahoo, and Yellowfin.
So, is it Fall, or isn’t it?

Twenty-eight miles to the 220, they caught a 104-pound Yellowfin Tuna. It was quite a battle but well worth it, and they were thrilled to try their hand at one so large!
Captain Manuel, Sr. at the Helm and Mate Jr. running the cockpit helped pull off an excellent fishing day for their anglers Allan Matthews, David Harrington, Dennis Harrington, Josh Harris, Kevin Dahlberg, and Tad Nelson from Galveston, Texas, on the “LA CORONITA,” a 40-foot Cabo Express when they caught Ten Yellowfin Tuna weighing from 10 to 94 Pounds on bait outside the Lighthouse. When Thomas Hafner, from Mountain View, California, a solo angler, chartered the “RUTHLESS,” a 31-foot Bertram run by Captain Beto Lira and Mate Carmelo, he hoped to catch a single marlin, but instead, he caught and released Six 120-pound Striped Marlin on bait. When they headed to La Brecha and saw all the action, he realized he had a good chance of staying on the rod all day, and he did! He even had time to catch a 12-pound Dorado, which he enjoyed almost as much as the Marlin releases.
The Captain and Mate on the “TIBURON,” a 31-foot Bertram (Captain Orlando M. and Mate Carlos Santos), enjoyed getting to fish with the Louisiana trio Andrey Keim, Julie Keim, and Scott Keim, who were friendly and loved to fish. When they got to 27 miles from the 180 Spot, they got a 30-pound Yellowfin Tuna on feathers and were thrilled to catch it.
On the “KNOT WORKIN,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, Captain Tito Olascoaga and Mate Cesar led the Tempe, Arizona, group on a tuna hunt. To their surprise, they reeled in Two unexpected 10-pound Dorado, a delightful twist to their fishing adventure.

Anglers Dana and David Mann from San Antonio, Texas, chartered the “ANDREA,” a 28-foot Uniflite with Captain Fernando Noyola and Mate Marcelo D. running the boat ready to catch some fish, and they did. The day was beautiful, and the fishing was excellent. Captain Fernando headed straight for the La Brecha Spot, where the couple caught and released Two 100 to 130-pound Striped Marlin and One 50-pound Wahoo, all on bait. They were pleased with the crew for taking them to the “Right Spot” and pleased with themselves for catching the fish.
“CHASIN TAIL,” a 62-foot Viking with Captain Pepe in charge and Mates Ulises, Hamo, and Dulce, had a blast when they took the couple, Michael Chambers and Shelley Hutson, from Louisiana, out on a Half-Day trip. Although it was only four hours, they managed to catch One Yellowfin Tuna that weighed over 100 pounds…102 to be exact. The tuna ate a skipjack 32 miles to the 180 Spot. Oh, what a good time they had.

They were exhausted at the end of the day, but nothing could erase the smiles from the faces of any of the men.
The 46-foot Viking, “LA CHINGONA,” with Captain Antonio and Mates Miguel and Nestor, were also at the La Brecha Spot when their Firestone, Colorado fishermen caught and released THIRTEEN STRIPED MARLIN weighing from 60 to 105 pounds on Macarela and Ballyhoo. The “BILL COLLECTOR,” a 32-foot Cabo Express, with Captain Nico and Mate Erick, Jr., left the dock headed for the La Brecha Spot on Thursday morning, where multiple marlin releases had been reported throughout the previous week. Connor Mikolajczyk, Dudley Freitag, Melissa Mikolajczyk, and Stacey Freitag from California were excited and hopeful, hoping to get a marlin for each of them. Instead, their day was filled with marlin after marlin, sometimes doubles, until the count reached EIGHTEEN STRIPED MARLIN CAUGHT AND RELEASED in the 100 to 120-pound range on bait. Extremely tired but happy anglers left the boat that evening, and the crew was just as delighted!
The La Brecha Spot kept on giving, so Captain Osiel, Mates Joel, and Gil also decided the La Brecha was the best spot for his anglers from Temecula, California, to try their luck! There, Joan Koulas, Matt Jones, Ron Koulas, and Tony McDonald caught and released SEVENTEEN STRIPED MARLIN FROM 100 to 120 pounds on bait.
