On Friday, November 1, the “LA BRISA,” a 31-foot Bertram with Captain Bruce and Mate Jesus Winkler, had the pleasure of hosting Isabel and James Boehmer. They set off to the Los Arcos Bank where they reeled in a magnificent 81-pound Wahoo on bait and two five or 6-pound Dorado on red lures. Despite the modest number of fish, the excitement of the catch was undeniable. The couple, who had never tasted Wahoo, were eager to savor their fresh catch.
Captain Fernando Noyola and Mate Mario Juarez on the “ANDREA,” a 28-foot Uniflite, took their anglers Bruce and Deborah Gazvoda from Nashville, Indiana, to the Herradura, where they caught Six Yellowfin Tuna from 10 to 50 pounds on bait and kite.
Kim Staigers, Thomas L. Staigers, and Thomas Staigers, from East Windsor, Connecticut, began their day by chartering the “VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram. They had Captain Roberto Sandez and Mate Salvador Flores running the show. The crew took the trio from Connecticut to the famous Los Arcos Bank, where they caught and released Three 80+ pound Striped Marlin on bait. The Staiger family had a great time fighting the Striped Marlin!
“CHASIN TAIL,” a 62-foot Viking, Captain Pepe, and Mates Ulises end Ramon, had three young men from Georgia on board. The anticipation was high as they headed about 10 miles outside the Old Lighthouse. Anglers Jason Bleyens, Paul Armstrong, and Tom Pierce were thrilled when they landed a prize 132-pound Yellowfin Tuna on bait. The men were proud of their impressive catch.
Joseph Azevedo, Kimberly Azevedo, Mia Azevedo, and Molly Azevedo from El Dorado Hills, California, boarded the “LA BRISA,” a 31-foot Bertram, with Captain Bruce and Mate Jesus Winkler in charge, never dreaming they would get three of the prize fish in the Sea of Cortez. They caught and released One 120-pound Striped Marlin, One 20-pound Dorado, and One 45-pound Wahoo, all on bait and all at the Golden Bank.
On the “TIBURON,” a 31-foot Bertram, Captain Rosendo Gomez, and Mate Carlos Santos hosted a group of avid fishermen from Florida. Barrell Hilton, Daniel Hilton, Jonathon Peltier, Thomas Kieleszewski, and William Peltier’s trip was a resounding success, as they reeled in four Yellowfin Tuna on bait, each weighing between 40 and 98 pounds, 30 miles to the 180 Spot.
Jorgan Tornqvist and Ulf Christiansson took the “TRACY ANN,” a 31-foot Bertram with Captain Raul Leal and Mate Arturo on board. They caught and released One 120-pound Striped Marlin and Eight Yellowfin Tuna from 40 to 60 pounds, all on bait and all outside the Cabrillo.
“HOT ROD,” a 42-foot Cabo Flybridge, run by Captain Erick Orozco at the Helm and Mate Hot Rod Jose Ramiro Ramirez overseeing the cockpit, they took two guys, Frank Vierling and Tom Hamm from Onalaska, Wisconsin, to the Margarita Spot where they caught and released One 180-pound Striped Marlin on bait. Then they headed toward the Arcos Bank, where they caught Three Dorado, one small, maybe two pounds, and the other two in the 20-pound range on bait. After arriving at the Arcos Bank, they caught a 10-pound Yellowfin Tuna on a Rapala, and then they got a 6-pound Bonito on bait, also at the Arco Spot.
The “RIPPER,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, with Captain Abel at the helm and Mate Jose Luis, headed to the Golden Spot where they found Two Striped Marlin weighing from 100 to 160 pounds, which they caught and released and a Sailfish weighing 80 pounds that they also caught and released, also on bait on the Golden. It was a golden day for their group, Bruce Mueller, Earl Sheesley, Jarric Mueller, Morgan Mueller, and Robert Mueller. Lots of smiles that day!
Jim and Ann Anderson, who came from Reno, Nevada, hoping to catch a marlin, chose the “CHASIN TAIL,” a62-foot Viking, with Captain Pepe and Mates Ulises end Ramon. They couldn’t have asked for a more relaxed, friendly crew, and they were having the best time when the reel went off, and a marlin began showing off for them. They were pleased to have caught and released their Striped Marlin (weighing around 100 pounds) on bait only a mile outside Palmilla!
Tim Loucks from Spokane, Washington, chartered the 30-foot Bertram, “KARINA,” with Captain Bruce and Mate Jorge Velez running the boat, didn’t realize that he would have so much fun catching a 48-pound Yellowfin Tuna on bait. They ran to the 95 Spot and soon had the fish hooked and were fighting it. Tim is ready to return for a second shot at tuna!
Captain Tito Olascoaga and Mate Abrahamon the “KNOT WORKIN,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, took the Hockley, Texas couple, Shelby and Zach Waters, six miles outside of the Cerro Colorado where they caught Two Yellowfin Tuna weighing 15 pounds and 60 pounds. They were both caught on bait. The couple were pleased they had caught the tuna.
The 42-foot Bertram, “YAHOO,” run by Captain Ricardo Escamilla-Yahoo and Mate Jose Escamilla-Yahoo, took their anglers Connie Mc Kinney, Connie Wilson, Jeff Wilson, and Jimmy Mc Kinney, from Alaska to the Margarita Bank, where they caught120 pounds a 20-pound Wahoo on a Rapala, and on to the Golden where they released one of two Striped Marlin that weighed 120 pounds on bait, and a second Striped Marlin that weighed 100 pounds they caught and released on the Cerros de Arena, also on bait. They had an exciting day!
Captain Manuel, Sr. at the Helm and Mate Jr. running the cockpit of the “LA CORONITA,” a 40-foot Cabo Express, helped his guests Dalton Tehan, John Earley, and Katrina Sutherland, have a great fishing day when they caught and released One 100-pound Striped Marlin and One 20-pound Dorado both on bait at the 1150 Bank.
Dan Singer, Kerk Gentry, and Robert and Teresa Morton from Nevada decide to charter the “ADRIANA,” a 28-foot Uniflite run by Captain Jesús Romero and Mate Mario Juárez. They headed to the 1150 Spot, where they got their group One Yellowfin Tuna weighing 30 pounds
“ANDREA,” a 28-foot Uniflite, anglers Jason and Kimberly Pankoski from Burlington, Colorado, enjoyed the day with Captain Fernando Noyola and Mate Mario Juarez as they fished for marlin. They finally checked their target off their list when they caught and released their 100-pound Striped Marlin on bait at the 210 Spot. They were grateful to their crew.
“KARINA,” a 30-foot Bertram, with Captain Bruce and Mate Jorge Velez running the show, took a trio of fishermen, Michael Peg, Brian O’Quinn, and Kenneth Clays, out for the day. They enjoyed the group and found One 170-pound Blue Marlin for them to catch and release 13 to 15 miles from the Lighthouse and Six Yellowfin Tuna from 50 to 100 pounds at the same location all on bait. Congratulations, guys. That was a nice-sized Tuna and Blue.
Captain Bruce and Mate Jesus Winkler, aboard the “LA BRISA,” a 31-foot Bertram, had Luz Bowe and Roger Heyman on board when they caught One 10-pound Dorado on bait and One 36-pound Yellowfin Tuna on a lure both at the Herradura.
“BILL COLLECTOR II,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, with Captain Juan C Lopez and Mate JC Martinez, went straight to the Los Arcos, and 10 miles from the Los Arcos, they got Three Yellowfin Tuna, one 20 pounds, one 150 pounds, and one 170 pounds for their anglers on board, Dennis Sorenson, Jeffrey Adamek, and Manny Perez. After they arrived at the Los Arcos, they got a 25-pound Wahoo on a lure. They had an exhausting but thrilling day. They couldn’t ask for a better crew or greater boat. Thank you, Pisces!
Captain Antonio and Mate Luis, the skipper and mate on the “LA CHINGONA,” a 46-foot Viking, helped their group of fishermen, Dale Lovette, John Igo, Mike Gresser, Patric McGee, and Ryan, catch Two giant Yellowfin Tuna that weighed 113 pounds and 131 pounds on bait at the Lighthouse.
“TRACY ANN,” a 31-foot Bertram with Captain Julio Castro and Mate Tracy Ann Jose G., got Four Yellowfin Tuna from 5 to 60 pounds on bait at the 95 Spot for their guests from Edison, New Jersey, Bill Castellano and Joe Wolf.
Donavan, Robert Fancy, Lindsey Marie, Michael Bracken, Rob Bracken, and Teresa Marie Fancy had an exciting day on the “VALERIE,” a 35-foot Bertram with Captain Roberto Sandez and Mate Salvador Flores when they caught Five Yellowfin Tuna weighing from 10 to 45 pounds on bait at the 95 Spot
Jeffrey Donovan, Debora Donovan, Donald Blaylock, and Kathleen Blaylock, from Cape Coral, Florida, aboard the “BBII,” a37-foot Viking Billfish 2018, with Captain Hector and Mate Joel, couldn’t have been more excited when they caught and released Eight Striped Marlin weighing in the 100 to 110-pound range, plus catching a large 48.5-pound Wahoo and a 15-pound Dorado all on bait at the La Brecha Spot. They came away impressed with their extraordinary day.
The “RIPPER,” a 35-foot Cabo Flybridge, chartered by Jackson Pepe, Jeremey Waters, John Pepe, and Kevin McDonald from Kalispell, Montana, with Captain Abel and Mate’s Ninja and Brian caught Six Yellowfin Tuna from 20 to 162-pounds on bait and with kite outside the 95 Spot. They were especially pleased with the tuna that weighed over 150 pounds. It left them exhausted but proud of their accomplishment!
The “VALERIE,“ a 35-foot Bertram with Captain Roberto Sandez at the Helm and Mate Salvador Flores overseeing the cockpit, found Two (80 and 100-pound) Striped Marlin on bait and Two 40-pound Wahoo on Rapalas at the cerro del Golden for their group, Francis Conway, Glen McCormick, John Conway, Julie McCormick, Karla Carroll, Robert McCumsey, from Anchorage, Alaska. They returned to Alaska with “tails” to tell.
Captain Bruce and Mate Jesus Winkler, aboard the “LA BRISA,” a 31-foot Bertram, helped their anglers Dave Rothstein, and David Feldman find Ten Yellowfin Tuna weighing from 10 to 110 pounds on lures and bait and with kite 22 miles outside the Cerro del Golden. They were very happy to fight the big tuna they caught.
Donald Reisfeld, Joel Wolff, and Roger Heymann returned to try again, this time on the “REBECCA,” a 31-foot Bertram with Captain Orlando Murillo and Mate Jose Gomez. They caught Four Yellowfin Tuna from 8 to 115 pounds on bait 15 miles to the 24 Spot. They had a memorable day on the water!
Captain Daniel and Mates Mario were running the “C ROD,” a 38-foot Blackfin, for their guests Clark Doll, James Biddle, Martha Townson and Veronika Moran from East Aurora, New York when they caught Three Yellowfin Tuna weighing from 30 to 152 pounds on bait at the San Jaime Bank and One Skipjack, also on bait at the San Jaime. They were very happy anglers when they left the boat. A tuna that weighed over 150 pounds is something to smile about!
“HOT ROD,” a42-foot Cabo Flybridge with Captain Erick Orozco, and Mate Hot Rod Jose Ramiro Ramirez, helped their fishermen, Anthony Chandler, Chase Smack, Justin Mallouk, Keesa Mullins, Lee McCully, and Martin Padgett, from California, catch Six 60 to 80-pound Yellowfin Tuna on Rapalas below the Herradura. It was a fun trip, the crew enjoyed the group, and the California anglers enjoyed being on the boat with Captain Erick and Mate Hot Rod!
The “TIBURON,” a 31-foot Bertram,with Captain Rosendo Gomez and Mate Carlos Santos enjoyed fishing with Leon Rosenberg and Randy Glerd, when they caught Five Yellowfin Tuna weighing from 10 to 110 pounds on average Rapala and bait and kite 20 miles to the Lighthouse. It was a fun day for them all.
